Denver Urban Scholars Welcomes Amber Giauque Callender as Program Director

Denver Urban Scholars welcomes Amber Giauque Callender to the team as Program Director. Callender will provide overall programmatic guidance and support, assisting Denver Urban Scholars in furthering its mission to facilitate academic achievement and positive social development among underserved Denver youth. Callender will also oversee Denver Urban Scholars’ three programs – Stepping Stones, Milestones and Capstones.

Callender brings to Denver Urban Scholars over a decade of experience working with nonprofit, community and government organizations in Denver. She has served in a variety of capacities within local government, including grassroots community organizer, Director of Neighborhood Relations under Mayor Hickenlooper, and Executive Director of Denver Road’s Home.

“We are very excited to have Amber join our organization, and are confident that her expertise will provide guidance and support to our dedicated team of professionals,” remarked Patrick Byrne, Executive Director of Denver Urban Scholars. “With Amber’s background in public service and her understanding of the nonprofit sector, she will no doubt bring valuable experience to our organization – helping us grow and expand to meet the needs of those we serve.”
