Pathways

Denver Urban Scholars provides life-changing opportunities for students to pursue individual pathways to career and college. As DUS’ primary program, Pathways provides integrated mentoring and case management services to middle school and high school students attending a partners school through:

  • Community Mentoring Services – students are paired with an adult mentor, and relationships are focused on increasing high school graduation; supporting college and career readiness; providing social-emotional support to reduce delinquency; building positive relationships; and developing skills in areas such as conflict resolution, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Scholar Support Services – DUS’ case management utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and positive youth development lens.  Program Managers provide services such as assessing student needs; case planning and goal setting; counseling; psychoeducation and life skills training; crisis intervention; and coaching students and mentors on the mentoring relationships.
  • Additional Enhancements – Each school selects enhancements from a menu of services that include Real Talk social-emotional groups, parent engagement workshops, school staff development, and large school assemblies.

All of our students must attend one of our partner schools.
