Denver Urban Scholars Walk of Fame, 20 Years in the Making: Christina Gonzales

Congratulations to Denver Urban Scholars graduate Christina Gonzales, who will receive the first ever Gilbert Garcia Memorial Award at this evening’s Class Act Dinner and Auction. Christina and Gilbert were classmates at Bishop Machebeuf High School. Gilbert was a motivated, hard-working college student when he was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in Denver in 2007. Christina carries on Gilbert’s legacy of dedication and perseverance as she pursues her Master’s degree from Colorado State University, works full time at Starz Cable, and cares for her seven-year-old son. Way to go, Christina, we are so very proud of all your accomplishments and look forward to all your future successes!
