New Partnership with Arrupe Jesuit High School

September 6th, 2017

Denver Urban Scholars is excited to renew a partnership with Arrupe Jesuit High School, thanks to the support of our generous donor, The Donahue Foundation. The school’s focus on serving economically disadvantaged students and on career readiness & college prep is a great fit with the Denver Urban Scholars mission and vision. Enrollment of students has begun. We plan to serve 20 students this school year and expand to a full caseload of students in the future. To build out this partnership, we have hired a new Program Manager, Emma Barcenas. Emma joined our team after serving as Residential Counselor at Boys Hope Girls Hope, where she supported a similar population of students who attended Regis Jesuit High School. Emma has a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of California at San Diego with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. Emma feels fortunate to be part of Denver Urban Scholars and Arrupe, as she feels both teams have a vision of a better future for the students at Arrupe Jesuit. She is more than excited to take part in helping these young minds reach their full potential and goals. We are thrilled to have her on the Denver Urban Scholars team and to be partnering with Arrupe Jesuit High School!
