Denver Urban Scholars has grown an average of 20% percent every year since its beginning in 1994. The organization is currently sponsoring more students than ever before with hopes of continuing to increase the number of scholarships and academic stipends and expand educational programs, as well as add additional staff members. In order to do this, however, Denver Urban Scholars must continue to actively pursue fundraising and donation opportunities.

A unique aspect of Denver Urban Scholars is that expenses associated with administrative salaries, overhead and fundraising are paid directly by an outside donor. Funds received from foundations, individuals, and corporations are used exclusively for tuition assistance and program expenses. Having administrative expenses covered enables the organization to use contributions to provide educational opportunities to a greater number of students.

Denver Urban Scholars is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. All contributions to the organization, including scholarship and stipend payments, are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by the law.
